“England and America are two countries separated by a common language. And Senior pictures.”
Ok, so maybe George Bernard Shaw didn’t say that last bit – but I’m sure he would have if he’d been in my situation.
Ya see, thing is, we don’t DO this in the UK. There’s no such thing as a ‘Senior Picture’. (Probably because we ‘graduate’ about four times! ha!) So, for the first time in a looooooooooooooooooong time, I was made very aware of my ‘difference’ on this shoot. Not that it mattered. I just wanted to share.
Meet Alyssa – she’s a senior (duh) at a local high school. She’s fun, energetic, a dancer, and damn it all if she isn’t totally photogenic too.
Some people are just too perfect.
Yep. Not fair is it? But ya know what? Underneath it all she’s really a horrible, vindictive, spite-….. Nope. Can’t do it. Can’t lie. She’s actually a really nice girl too. Damn.
If you can’t tell by the pictures, Alyssa is one of those people who always seems to be smiling – and I can’t tell you how much easier that makes my job…
There are shoots/subjects that sometimes are a real struggle… it’s almost like they don’t want to be in the pictures they hired me to take… But then there are shoots like this – a great location, awesome weather and an amazing subject – all wrapped up in a stress free shoot to make for one very happy photographer…
If you want your senior pictures taken by a guy who doesn’t really get what all the fuss is about but is happy to take awesome pictures anyway (that would be me, the Brit with the puzzled look on his face!) then get in touch, either on the website or via facebook.Pin It
